＜p＞Wilfrid Wilson Gibson was born on the 2nd October 1878 in Hexham, Northumberland.＜/p＞ ＜p＞He began to have his poems published as early as 1895, firstly in magazines and periodicals and, from 1903, in collected book form.＜/p＞ ＜p＞After his mother died in 1914 Gibson decided to relocate, firstly to London and, several years later, to Gloucestershire. However much of his poetry still retained his observations and recollections from his time in the North of the country.＜/p＞ ＜p＞During his stay in London he became close friends with the author Richard Marsh and the War Poet Rupert Brooke, indeed he became one of the latter’s literary executors upon his untimely death.＜/p＞ ＜p＞He was regarded as one of the brightest poets but also had his poetical critics including such luminaries as Edward Thomas.＜/p＞ ＜p＞He attempted to enlist in the war several times but was declined due to poor eyesight and poor health. Although in 1917 he was accepted but only for work in England and even then not in any military capacity.＜/p＞ ＜p＞It was during this period that the Georgian Poetry movement, of which he was a leading founder, began to coalesce and push itself into critical and public consciousness. Resulta, adem?s, ampliamente representativo tanto de nuestra actividad azulejera como del comercio exportador, ya que el puerto de La Habana -donde nunca existiteron hornos cer?micos- fue receptor y redistribuidor para el resto de Am?rica de este tipo de productos llegados de la metr?poli. Todas estas azulejer?as -nunca estudiadas- han sido sometidas a un trabajo de sistematizaci?n tras el cotejo con piezas valencianas, con la documentaci?n que conocemos y con la escasa bibliograf?a existente al respecto. El resultado se ofrece estructurado en una introducci?n te?rica, una extensa catalogaci?n de la producci?n seriada, una amplia visi?n de ejemplos de pintura cer?mica -paneles, paisajes y floreros- y, ya fuera del periodo colonial, un acercamiento a algunos conjuntos neorrenacentistas realizados en Sevilla y Talavera. L'autore parte infatti dalle origini del genere, fra tardo Seicento e primo Settecento e arriva ai giorni nostri. Un lungo itinerario non sempre facile e certamente poco conosciuto. Se, infatti, ? risaputo che il Settecento fu ricco di esperienze nel campo dell'opera buffa (ma come ? raro, oggi, ascoltare in teatro lavori di Piccinni, di Paisiello, di Cimarosa, se si eccettua il suo Matrimonio segreto), ? nozione comune individuare in Rossini il punto di arrivo di tale tradizione e considerare i titoli comici successivi come rarit?, eccezioni a conferma di una regola che vuole l'Ottocento votato al tragico. In realt? il XIX secolo fu ancora denso di esperienze nel versante operistico pi? leggero. E, soprattutto, ? stato il Novecento ad aprire nuovamente ad un filone comico, spesso determinato dall'atteggiamento neoclassico di diversi musicisti. Ne emerge, insomma, un quadro assai pi? intricato del prevedibile, delineato dall'autore con estrema chiarezza e ricchezza di dati.
