＜p＞This book presents a brief design approach for cable-supported bridges based on experiences from past projects, both domestic and international, that were shared by experts in bridge engineering. The specifications outlined in the book are adopted in the design of several cable-stayed and extradosed bridges in India and abroad. These specifications are in conformance with the global best practices. In addition, reference literature has been consulted during the compilation of various sections of the book. In this endeavor, the author sought suggestions and collective guidance from some eminent specialists in cable-supported bridges from the USA, Europe and Asia in order to provide a glimpse of practices across the globe. In this book, the author has attempted to highlight the basic principles of cable supported bridges and the same should be used only as a guideline for design. It is believed that the reader would have acquired sufficient knowledge of analysis and design of complex bridges before going through this book. Lastly, brief case studies of two notable Indian bridges; the Second Vivekananda Extradosed (Nivedita) Bridge and Burdwan Cable Stayed Bridge are provided. While the former is an example of extradosed structure for Hooghly River crossing, the latter is a three-pylon (first time in India) cable stayed bridge over railway tracks. Early reporting and communications should include information on deficiencies and problems that have been identified and the proposed steps toward remediation including consultation with stakeholders impacted by a particular issue. F?r die Haupthandlung und die Hauptfigur hat diese Szene doch ?berhaupt keine Bedeutung.' Von Kristin Thompson wurden solche, f?r die Haupthandlung nicht ausschlaggebende Szenen als freie Motive bezeichnet, Michaela Kr?tzen bezeichnet diese wiederum grosso modo als das Kino der Attraktionen. Ohne Zweifel blieb ein solches Kino der Attraktionen, wie der Erfinder des Begriffes selbst schon angemerkt hat, auch nach seiner Abl?sung durch das Erz?hlkino stets ein Bestandteil desselben, denn einerseits war der Zuschauer an dem Kinoapparat selbst, sowie an den exotischen Bildern nicht mehr so fasziniert wie am Anfang, und verlangte zu diesen Bildern auch eine Geschichte. Andererseits musste diese Geschichte, um f?r den Zuschauer interessant zu sein, spektakul?r sein bzw. durch spektakul?re Bilder unterst?tzt werden. In der vorliegenden Arbeit wurden zun?chst der Begriff 'Kino der Attraktionen' und Kr?tzens Verwendung des Begriffes f?r den heutigen Film erkl?rt, um sodann die Bedeutung und den Stellenwert von Thomsons freier Motive als Attraktion in den klassischen Hollywoodfilmen festzuhalten. Es schien, dass vor allem in Katastrophenfilmen ein solches 'Kino der Attraktionen' sichtbar sei, weshalb die Auseinandersetzung mit den genannten Theorien auch mittels der Analyse dieses Genres erfolgte.
